A Delicate Man – A Safe Place to Land. Creative Musing for the Intuitive Feeler & HSP

Starting anew with a fresh creative endeavor is an interesting ride. Have you ever sat at your computer or hovered over a canvas, or perhaps stood with needle in hand and dared yourself to make the first move? I’ve felt that unique mix of fear and anticipation myself and the only way to move beyond it, is to start. So, here we go!

This quote from Audrey Hepburn has been bouncing around my head: “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

I remember watching her films when I was a young lad and feeling so fully captivated by her ability to embody charm, genuine charm. She possessed the kind of allure that compelled you to smile, feeling fortunate to be in her presence, even with a television screen and quite a few years between us. When I think about people that I’d love to have at a fantasy dinner party, she’s definitely on the list. I’d like to think that she’d find me great company. Hey, a boy can dream! Little wonder then that this profound quote resonates with me.

I’ve been blogging for almost 9 years and I’ve watched the environment of the web change so drastically. I could spend countless hours reminding you why so many of us creative nomads don’t feel at home here like we used to, but that is not the purpose of this post or this website, for that matter.

Simply put, A.D.M. is my way of creating a space where both creativity and motivating insights can coexist. From essays that address the ups and downs of this creative life, to sharing inspiring makers and artists and the goods they create, A.D.M. is a return to form, an opportunity to reconnect with the beauty of the web without all the vitriol. Specially designed playlists that we call Movements will be featured weekly, as well as a collection of handmade goods, books and more in our Shop. Per Audrey’s advice, this is a space that celebrates beauty, kindness and an end to the feeling that you are walking this rocky terrain alone.

I want to hear from you, so the comment section will be wide open. Feel free to express yourself in a kind and open way. I will personally moderate the comment sections to make sure that the tone stays civil and kindhearted. Snark and sarcasm have no place here, so feel free to share from the soul.

I can’t wait to hear your thoughts and hopefully we’ll move you to create conversations around topics and people that give us a chance to breath a bit. Let’s celebrate those who are creating beautiful things and thoughts in a world gone mad. This is a space that I want to hang my hat in and hopefully, you will too. Thanks for sharing this new journey with me.

With Gratitude,

A Delicate Man
